You have been nominated for the 2018 list of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs. To proceed to the next step in the selection process, complete and submit the Nominee Information Form by Sunday, January 28, 2018.

Even if you are a previous award winner, approach this process as though it is your first time being nominated. Being a winner one year does not automatically mean you will be named a Top 50 CEO in succeeding years. Also, the judging panel changes from one year to the next and the judges do not have access to previous nomination applications.

1. Who are eligible nominees?
Eligible nominees must: be based in Atlantic Canada and lead a company or organization whose head office is in Atlantic Canada; OR, be in charge of a provincial/regional head office that has significant decision-making and organizational autonomy.

2. How are award winners selected?
Nominees are judged by a six-person panel comprised of members of Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEO Hall of Fame. Judges are instructed to consider each nominee based solely on information provided in the Nomine Information Form.

3. How is the CEO of the Year chosen?
The CEO of the Year is selected from the total list of nominees and is the person who has the highest score across all judging categories (management skills; corporate/organizational growth; industry leadership; volunteer/community work; previous industry/community awards; and, overall leadership ability).

4. How is the Innovator of the Year selected?
The Innovator of the Year is chosen based on the response to the Innovation question on the Nominee Information Form.

5. When will winners be notified?
Winners will be notified no later than the middle of March, 2018.

6. How are award winners recognized?
Winners will be featured in our May/June print edition and on our website. They will also be honoured at a gala to be held on Wednesday, May 9 at the Halifax Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This stellar event will be emceed by celebrity host Mark Critch of This Hour Has 22 Minutes, and webcast live to an international audience. Tickets go on sale in either late February or early March.
